The Ultimate Stress Management Tip
I recently gave an “impromptu speech” about “Stress Management and the Ultimate Peace.” I received many positive comments on it, so I thought I would share it with you.
Let’s admit it, we all have stress of some sort or another. Perhaps we have too many things going on at once. Believe it or not, multi-tasking is not the best way to get things done. The best way is to give your full attention to one thing at a time, knock it off the list and move on to the next item. In today’s busy world we try to multi-task, or we overbook ourselves and we wind up overwhelmed, exhausted, and stressed out.
Many times, we feel stress when things are out of control, or more specifically, out of our control. Something is screwing up our day…
• poor health
• lost item
• other people causing delays, etc.
And there’s nothing we can do about it.
Stress is not good for you, physically, mentally, or emotionally. So, I’m going to tell you my ultimate go-to stress management tip. Get into a personal relationship with Jesus. Yup, I just went there. And ya know what? It works. Stay with me here, let me explain why it works…
As I came into a personal relationship with Jesus (God) I came to understand that God is omnipresent. He is currently in the past (so He knows everything about us and what’s happened in our lives – He even knew us before we were born), He is in the present (right here, right now, He knows what you are dealing with), and He is in the future (so He knows how things are going to turn out for you and your family, He even has a plan for you). I know, its mind blowing, but it’s true.
Once you believe this about God, you don’t feel like you have to be the one in control of everything. In fact, you understand that you actually are not in control. You are then able to say, “OK, God. I have no clue what you are doing in this situation, but I know You do, and I trust You in this.” Then you give it up to God and you can feel the tension just melt away.
It’s really that simple. Believe in Jesus Christ, accept the free gift of salvation, have faith, and trust in the Lord.
