Enjoy the moment
So, this happened this morning. *Side note: I’m not fully caffeinated, these are just the musing of the morning. When the thoughts flow, I gotta run with them. Have an awesome weekend!!
While having my coffee this morning, I glanced up to see the sky ablaze with a vibrant sunrise. How cool is that?! Even though I don’t like darker mornings, this season allows me to be awake to witness the sunrise. I whispered, “WOW!” and rushed for my camera to capture the moment. As I returned situating myself for the perfect photo op, I realized, I had missed it. In that brief moment, the sun had shifted. The glorious color was gone, having blended into what will be a bright blue sky.
My brain, fueled by previously mentioned coffee, immediately wondered what was the lesson here? Perhaps, that life is fleeting? Moments matter? Was it a reminder that God is with us, even though we may not see Him all the time? Throughout our busy day, during this stressful time, it’s easy to focus on the things of the world. We can get caught up in the hustle and bustle as we charge forward to the next best thing, forgetting to take a moment to acknowledge God’s presence in it all.
My take away? Don’t miss the good stuff, trying to capture it for the future. The things of life change so quickly that, if we forget to stop and enjoy them, we could miss a perfect opportunity to rest in His peace, even for a moment. Next time, instead of running for my camera. I’ll sit and simply watch the sun rise, basking in the beauty of God’s creation and whisper, “Thank you, Lord, for this day.”
