The Happy Hour
Okay, the bad news continues (especially after the presidential debate on Monday). Consequently, I am still thinking about a good news station. I have an idea I’d like some feedback on, so feel free to respond. I must admit, when I told Jim about it I told him I didn’t want to tell too many people because someone might steal my idea before I can bring it to a reality and his comment was, “So what, as long as there is a show out there providing an outlet for positive news?”
With that said, if anyone knows how to go about making my idea a reality, go right ahead.
Alright, here’s my thought…
A TV show called, The Happy Hour, shown between 4:00 and 5:00 pm, or 5:00 -6:00 pm either one. It’s around the time that restaurants promote “Early Bird” specials and bars promote “Happy Hour”. It would be a time that families could watch, and it would be a big dose of positive reality, to let people know the entire world is not in upheaval, there are good people and good things happening in the world.
There would be stories about:
And possibly a commentary and, of course, commercials.
It would be great if it could be a daily show, but it may have to start out as a weekly show, until it grew enough to be offered daily. I think if it were a weekly show, Wednesday might be good, or Monday.
I have absolutely no idea how to pitch the idea to a TV station, or who would help do all the research. Do we just research and report? Do we do live, on-location spots? All of this is still in the thought forming, brainstorming process, but the more I hear about the horrible things going on in the world, the more I think people would like to take a break to watch “The Happy Hour.” I mean, look how popular America’s Funniest Home Videos used to be (maybe still is). Why? People want a break from all the negativity they are bombarded with on a daily basis.
So, thoughts? I’d appreciate hearing if you think it’s a good idea or not, and perhaps best practices on how to proceed, if I choose to do so.
Have a fantastic weekend, and be sure to take time for a Happy Hour of positivity.
